“De” In Spanish, we use “de” (of) to show ownership. We put “de” after the object and before the person. Es el lápiz de la Sra. Hamilton. In English, it is the opposite order. It is the pencil of Mrs. Hamilton. But we say in English…… It is Mrs. H’s pencil.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS IN SPANISH!!!!
