As you already know, a direct object is whatever receives the action from the verb. In a sentence you can identify it by asking the verb “What?” Nosotros comemos carne asada. ¿Qué comemos? Carne asada. Ustedes estudian el libro de español todas las mañanas. ¿Qué estudian? Estudian el libro.
