algún (alguno/a/os/as) = some ningún (ninguno/a) = none, no Algún y ningún se usan con sustantivos masculinos singulares. Ningún (ninguno/a) no tiene forma plural. Algunos de los chicos son muy amables. Some of the boys are very kind. No tengo ningún problema. - ¿No tienes ninguno? I don’t have any problem(s). - You don’t have any?
también = too, alsotampoco = either, neither Yo lo hago también. I do it, too. Yo no lo hago tampoco. I don’t do it, either.
siempre = alwaysnunca, jamás = never ¿Siempre comes tus verduras? Do you always eat your vegetables? No, no las como nunca (jamás). No, nunca (jamás) las como. No, I never eat them.
o…o = either…orni…ni = neither…nor Puedes tener o una enchilada o un taco. You can have either an enchilada or a taco. No quiero ni una enchilada ni un taco. I want neither an enchilada nor a taco.
aun = evenni siquiera = not even Todos vamos al cine, aun mi hermanito. We’re all going to the movies, even my little brother. Nadie lo hace, ni siquiera mi padre. Nobody does it, not even my father.
todavía, aún = stillya no = not anymore, no longer ¿Todavía (Aún) vives en Madrid? - No, ya no vivo allí. Do you still live in Madrid? - No, I don’t live there anymore.
todavía no = not yet ¿Estás lista? - Todavía no estoy lista. Are you ready? - I’m not ready yet.
apenas = hardly, barely El pobre niño apenas come. The poor child hardly (barely) eats.
