Notice that… The pronouns Tú and Usted both mean you. –Tú is used with people that you call by 1 st name and usted is used with people you call by last name. Él, Ella and Usted all conjugate like 3 rd persons. –Él esElla esUd. es Usted is printed in several ways. –Ud. Vd. usted

Notice that… Because every form of the verb looks and sounds different, the subject pronoun is not always used. –Yo soy inteligente. –Somos alumnos buenos. The subject pronoun agrees in gender with the person spoken about, but the verb does not…. –Él esElla es –Nosotros somos Nosotras somos

Notice that… To make a statement negative, place the word no before the verb…. –Tú no eres tonto. –No son mis amigos. To ask a question, invert the subject pronoun and the verb… –¿Eres tú amiga de Luisa? –¿Somos buenos alumnos?
