Uses: Ir--3 main uses: Ir + a + [place] (ex: ir a la escuela, ir al supermercado) Ir + a + [action] (“going to” do something – ch. 4) ¿Adónde [conjugated form of ir]? (ex: ¿Adónde vas?) Dar--Usually used with an object: Ex: Dar un examen, dar una fiesta, dar un regalo Estar--Only 2 uses for now (more in ch. 6): How someone feels currently (ex: ¿Cómo estás? Estoy bien.) Location (ex: ¿Dónde estás? Estoy en la escuela.)

Using “a” with “ir” a + el = al For la, los, and las, no change: a la, a los, a las Ir a la clase de arte Ir al cine [a + el cine  al cine] Note: the same thing happens with “de” de + el = del de la, de los, de las (no change) Después de las clases Después del examen [de + el examen  del examen]

Forms Hints Stems: Stems for dar and estar are regular: dard- / estarest- “Stem” for ir is v- Yo form: all three end in -oy: voy, doy, estoy Ir and Dar: the rest of the forms use the regular endings Estar: the rest of the forms use regular endings except… Accent mark on estás, está, and están No accent mark on estoy or estamos
