2 The Process yo hablar  yo habl + o  yo hablo
Take the ending off the infinitive form of the verb (the one that means “to ____”) hablar  hablar  habl vivir  vivir  viv Add the appropriate ending for your subject yo hablar  yo habl + o  yo hablo nosotros vivir  nosotros viv + imos  nosotros vivimos

3 Subject Pronouns Find these on your chart and color according to the pattern below. Use the colors to help you find their corresponding endings. yo – I tú – you (inf.) él, ella, Ud. – he, she, you (form.) nosotros – we vosotros – y’all (inf., España) ellos, ellas, Uds. – they, y’all

4 -AR verbs Color the endings according to the pattern established with your subject pronouns. o as a amos áis an Here is a sample verb conjugated: hablar hablo hablas habla hablamos habláis hablan

5 -ER verbs Color the endings according to the pattern established with your subject pronouns. o es e emos éis en Here is a sample verb conjugated: comer como comes come comemos coméis comen

7 Irregular Verbs Verbs that are completely irregular are conjugated fully on the chart. Color their forms according to the established pattern. ser ir estar soy voy estoy eres vas estás es va está somos vamos estamos sois vais estáis son van están

8 Stem-changing verbs Here is a sample verb conjugated: querer (eie)
Some verbs change their stem, or root, before adding the ending. Color the subject pronouns according to the established pattern. Be careful! The order changes! Change: yo tú él, ella, Ud. ellos, ellas, Uds. No change: nosotros vosotros Here is a sample verb conjugated: querer (eie) quiero quieres quiere queremos quereís quieren Notice you use –er endings because querer is an –er verb

9 Irregular YO forms These verbs are only irregular in the yo form of the verb. The irregular yo form is given in the list. Color only the yo form red (not the infinitive). dar  doy conocer  conozco tener  tengo Here is a sample verb conjugated: dar doy das da damos dais dan Except for the yo form, you use –ar endings because dar is an –ar verb

10 Conjugate on your own Pick a verb from each category, and write out the full conjugation & translation: -ar -er -ir eie ei oue
