A few special things… If it is exactly on the hour (like 8:00 or 1:00), we use “en punto” to say “o’clock” or “on the dot”. If it is 15 minutes after the hour (like 8:15 or 1:15), we use “y cuarto” instead of “y quince”. It is a quarter after the hour. If it is 30 minutes after the hour (like 8:30, 10:30, or 1:30), we use “y media” instead of “y treinta”. It is half past the hour.
