The present progressive is used in Spanish to express an action that is presently going on – an action in progress.
They take the place of nouns. For example, HE and SHE in English. Now lets look at some subject pronouns.

We use the present continuos for: Actions happening now, at the moment of speaking She ‘s doing her homework now. Actions happening around the time of speaking Jane is study hard for her exams these days. Fixed arrangments in the near future, specially when we know the time and the place.
