Showing Possession In Spanish there are NO apostrophes. You cannot say, for example, “Jorge’s perro”, (using an apostrophe) The acceptable way to show possession would be: “The dog of Jorge” En español: “El perro de Jorge.”

Possessive Adjectives Adjectives DESCRIBE nouns. But, they can also show possession. Examples in English: my, your, his, her, our, and their. It like saying “my dog, your house, his notebook, etc.”

Las reglas Like descriptive adjectives, possessive adjectives must modify the noun in number and gender (in the case of nuestro, a, os, as and vuestro, a, os, as).
Por ejemplo… Mi prima es alta. Mis primas son altas. Nuestras primas son altas. Nuestros primos son altos.
Posessive Adjectives Since su and sus have many meanings (his, her, your formal, their and your plural formal), use the prepositional phrase de + name/pronoun instead for clarity or emphasis.
Posessive Adjectives Sus parientes son cómicos. ¿Los parientes de ella? No, los parientes de usted.
