Teens Elementary 2 Review Lesson 1 - 6

Contents Lesson 1: Vocabulary: Kinds of movies / places at the mall Grammar: Would Lesson 2: Vocabulary: Places in town / means of transportation Grammar: Be (past) Lesson 3: Vocabulary: Other places in town Grammar: There was / there were Lesson 4: Vocabulary: The seasons / what’s the weather like? Grammar: Will Lesson 5: Vocabulary: Adjectives to describe places and people. Grammar: As + adjective + as Lesson 6: Vocabulary: Animal world. Grammar: How many, how much, how tall, how heavy.

Lesson 1 WOULD: recuerden que seguido de un verbo, nos ayuda a darnos la idea de algo hipotético, es decir algo condicional. Expresa una idea de voluntad, de aceptación, de preferencia. EJEMPLO: I WOULD watch a horror movie. I WOULD have a pet. Pero también puede tener valor de cortesía. EJEMPLO: I WOULD like a glass of wáter, please.

Lesson 2 BE es la forma infinita. En present se conjuga como IS / ARE. En pasado se conjuga como WAS / WERE. Nos sirve para habla de estado de cosas o de atributos. EJEMPLO: She is intelligent. She was at the party. They are friends. We were at school yesterday.

Lesson 3 THERE WAS y THERE WERE se utilizan para preguntar por o hablar de la existencia física de un objeto en algún lugar. En las preguntas WAS o WERE pasan delante de THERE. EJEMPLO: There was a cake at the party. There were kids at school. Was there a dog at your house? Were there teachers at school?

Lesson 4 WILL se utiliza para hablar del futuro. Y se usa un verbo pegado para que la idea de futuro este impuesta. EJEMPLO: I WILL go to school tomorrow. En las preguntas, WILL siempre va adelante. EJEMPLO: Will you do the homework?

Lesson 5 AS + ADJECTIVE + AS se utiliza para decir que dos cosas son iguales en algo cuando las comparamos. EJEMPLO: My mother is as short as me. My english teacher is as good as my biology teacher. La estructura para estas oraciones es: Sujeto + verbo BE + as adjetivo as + objeto (puede ser persona u objeto).

Lesson 6 HOW MUCH lo usamos para cantidades indefinidas como el arroz, el agua, el pan, el dinero, etc. Estos son sustantivo incontables (uncountable nouns). How much sugar do you need? HOW MANY lo usamos para cantidades contables como las frutas, las personas, útiles escolares, etc. Estos son los sustantivos contables (countable nouns). How many people were there at the zoo? HOW TALL lo usamos para medir la altura. How tall is a giraffe? HOW HEAVY lo usamos para pesar. How heavy is an elephant?

WH - QUESTIONS What – que When – cuando Where – donde Who – quien How – como /cuan
