Calaveras are poems recited for the Day of the Dead (All Souls’ Day) in México. They’re satirical poems that poke fun at people in a way that suggests they’re dead, even though they’re alive. GOAL: READ ALOUD YOUR POEM FOR THE CLASS >Write an original, funny 8-line poem with ABBA rhyme scheme >Choose a person in this room as your subject >English can be used >The topic is the humorous way your subject died
