Conjugate –y verbs in the preterite tense
-y verbs When i is surrounded by e and o in any combination, the i changes to a y. This is not considered to be irregular. Accents are going to appear on the i that remains in the rest of the conjugations.
- Y verbs Example Creer Ellos form creieron But the e is surrounding the i. So the correct conjugation is creyeron.

Exceptions With verbs that end in –uir, the change from i y still happens, however, the written accent over the i appears only in the first person singular form (yo form).
