Transcripción de la presentación:

IR- to go voy vamos vas vais va van Página 120 IRREGULAR in the “YO” form only voy vamos vas vais va van Use the word “ir” to talk about where someone is going.

Práctica: Choose the correct form of the verb “ir” that best matches the following noun or pronoun va Rosa- Maria y Rosa- Carlos- Tú- Los estudiantes- La maestra- Nosotros- Mario y yo- Ella- Ellas- van va vas van va vamos vamos va van

Práctica Complete the sentences with the correct form of “ir” voy Yo _____ a la biblioteca a leer un libro. Carlos ________ a la escuela todos los dias. Los estudiantes ________ al gimnasio. La maestra _________ a la oficina de la directora. Maria y yo __________ a la clase de ciencias. Carlos y Pablo _________ a la cafetería. Tú ________ mucho al baño. Ellos ______ al pasillo. va van va vamos van vas van

“ir a” translates to “going to” ADDING the word “a” Notice that all of the sentences in the previous slide have the form of “ir + a”? This is because these sentences are telling us where people are going or what they are going to do. Use “ir + a” to say when: 1. someone is going to a place 2. someone is going to do something. “ir a” translates to “going to”

Ejemplos: 1. To say when someone is going to a place: Yo voy a la escuela todos los dias. I go to school every day. Maria y Carlos van a la clase de español. Maria and Carlos go to Spanish class. 2. To say when someone is going to do something: Yo voy a almorzar. I am going to eat lunch. Maria y Carlos van a estudiar Español. Maria and Carlos are going to study Spanish.

Notice that when the word “a” is followed by the word “el”, we combine them to form “al”. Ejemplo: Ella va al gimnasio. a+el=al Remember: When talking about location, the words “de el” can be combined to form the word “del”. Ejemplo: El lápiz está debajo del papel.

¿Adónde….? When asking someone where they are going, start the questions with ¿Adonde….? Ejemplos: ¿Adónde va Jazmin? Where is Jazmin going? ¿Adónde vas? Where are you going?
