Attacks in Smart Metering GSM MSG MSG GSM SMART GRID puede traducirse como “Red Inteligente” del Transporte, la Distribución y el Consumo de Energía Eléctrica. Es “INTELIGENTE“, pues utiliza sistemas de tecnología digital para optimizar la producción y distribución con el fin de equilibrar oferta y demanda entre productores y consumidores. También “Red Inteligente” se asocia a que las redes usan “Medidores Inteligentes” (Smart Meters) los que ofrecen una facturación por franjas horarias, que permite: Elegir las mejores tarifas de entre las diferentes empresas eléctricas, Elegir sus horas de consumo, lo que permite un mejor uso de la red. Mapear el consumo y anticipar las necesidades futuras. Minimizar y/o eliminar acciones de hurto de energía. El Advenimiento de casas, edificios inteligentes y vehículos eléctricos. La irrupción de energías renovables distribuidas han cambiado los flujos de energía en las redes. Ahora los usuarios no sólo consumen sino que pueden producir y comercializar energía por la misma red. (Eólicos, Fotovoltaicos, Biogás) Por ello, el flujo de energía por las redes será bidireccional Eavesdropping /Forging(Confidentiality) Message modification (Integrity) Wireless jamming (Availability)
