AYER TODAY CAMSS BAU (DISCRETE AND DISPARATE) TRANSFORMATIONAL CAMSS (INTEGRATED SYSTEMS FOR ENTRERPRISE INNOVATION) Mobile Social System of Insight Mission Critical Systems Innovative Core Operations Security System of Engagement System of Records Cloud Last year, we identified the mega trend on confluence of social, mobile, and Cloud, and discussed what this trend meant to us and our clients in the industry. System of Engagement, have already driven enormous transformations, largely driven by social, mobile and cloud, which enable people to interact more dynamically, more rapidly, fluidly than ever before. With direct interaction between enterprise and their customers, or between people within an organization or across organizations, industry players and organizational functions are in flux. But on the positive side, vast amounts of data, potentially very valuable data are being generated, captured, and just beginning to be tapped for insights. At the other end of the spectrum is Systems of Record, more structured static transactions, the traditional data that feeds enterprises businesses today. Value can clearly be obtained from both pools, but it is becoming clear that the highest value is derived when we bring the Systems of Engagement and Systems of Record data together to generate the insights that can only be found when done at the cloud scale. Only doing so will enable us to deeply understand any process or system at the core of an enterprise. We call this Systems of Insight. We are at the beginning of a new era in IT. The potential for enterprises and for society is profound. Industries, markets and professions are being remade. A new architectural paradigm has emerged for the IT systems being able to cope with and to answer to the challenges of the new digital society: Systems of Engagement for relationship, Systems of Insight for knowledge and Systems of Record for transaction processing (SoE-SoI-SoR). SoE: User-centric, System learns user, Interactions, Collaboration, Open Forum for Discovery & Dialog, Immediacy & Accessibility, Privacy (Protect Users) SoR: Data-centric, User learns system, Transactions, Command & Control, Single-Source of Truth, Accuracy & Completeness, Security (Protect Assets) SoI: Systems of Insight arise out of the convergence of Systems of Engagement and Systems of Record, creating a cross-functional model for analyzing the joining of both sets of data (Integration and context generation) SoE unstructured data: text, audio, video, pictures, social networks, interactions, sensors Structured data SoR: (. ERP, OLTP, ...) data within the company "to run the business", mainly structured data in RDBMS Need for new technologies: hadoop, streams, advanced analytics In summary, to build Systems of Insight, we need: 1) Data: in fact to drive high margins, we need to place ourselves directly into the flow of data. 2) Cloud: Remember all the Systems of Engagement data is born in the Cloud, and if we want to have all these data in the Cloud, we clearly need to deliver the same level of security that we traditionally provided in the Systems of Record world. 3) Watson and cognitive system: will be the engine that drives the Systems of Insight. SoE vs SoR: SoR are essential (Gartner) ?, SoR are systems with a very limited perspective, decrease investment (Informatica) ?, SoE as a pure extension of the SoR (Forrester)? Both are perfectly complementary and SoR is key for transactional business but must evolve to adapt to new requirements: componentization, business event capture, real-time, efficiency, ecosystems services (compounds), flexibility, agility, efficiency Big Data Analytics Enabled by Cloud Pervasive Security Intelligence
