El secreto de los signos Teacher’s notes (1) These resources aim at introducing some of the most common Aboriginal symbols. El mundo aborigen – el secreto de los signos PowerPoint, includes illustrations, with vocabulary and sound files, as well as the corresponding Aboriginal symbols. Once your pupils are familiar with the vocabulary (in writing and/or orally), you can use the document: El mundo aborigen – el secreto de los signos – dibuja, has ganado. You can use the mini cards in different ways: - Dibuja, has ganado (Draw and you win - Pictionary) Cut up 2 sets of cards with the Spanish words only (if you have more pupils than cards, it’s ok to have several times the same cards, or replace some cards in the bags as you go along). Organise your pupils in 2 teams, each team in a line, facing a board where they’ll be able to draw. The first member of each team picks a card in their respective bags, and has to draw the Aboriginal symbol corresponding to the Spanish word. Give 2 points for the person who draws correctly and finishes first, and 1 point to the other team, if their drawing is correct. Continue until each pupil has had a go.  

El secreto de los signos Teacher’s notes (2) - Mímica … (mime) You can use the cards with symbols only or cards with words only. Same principle as suggestions from Teacher’s notes (1) but this time, each pupil has to try and mime the symbol they have and their team members have to say the word in Spanish. - Escucha … (listen) If you want your pupils to practise their listening and reading skills, you can play the game by writing all the Spanish words for the symbols, randomly, on a board. 2 teams lined up. You read a word. The first person to circle the correct word on the board gets a point for their team. - Escribe …. (write) If you want your pupils to practise their writing skills, you can play the game with a team member picking a card with the Spanish word from the bag, they have to read it and another team member has to write the word correctly on the board.
