Present situation Finished: CPAN Consolider – Ingenio 2010 Main objective: Creation of the National Center for Particle, Astroparticle and Nuclear Physics New: “RED CONSOLIDER CENTRO NACIONAL DE FISICA DE PARTICULAS, ASTROPARTICULAS Y NUCLEAR, (CPAN)” Starting this month (51 k for two years) IMPORTANT: not all the institutions participate officially (historical and administrative problems) Proposal: MoU between institutions to boost CPAN VERY IMPORTANT: open to ALL institutions

CPAN MoU (main objectives) 1. Impulsar la colaboración de los grupos e instituciones participantes en actividades de I+D+I en las diferentes áreas, con el fin de obtener mayores retornos científicos y tecnológicos. 2. Optimizar la coordinación en la participación de los grupos españoles en grandes proyectos e instalaciones tanto nacionales como internacionales. 3. Identificar las necesidades de las distintas áreas, y promover la creación de redes temáticas específicas. 4. Proporcionar asesoramiento científico y técnico en las áreas de especialidad en que es competente así como contribuir a la implementación de planes futuros de investigación en estos campos. 5. Transmitir a las autoridades científicas la opinión consensuada de la comunidad en temas específicos de su competencia. 6. Potenciar las actividades de transferencia de tecnología y asesoramiento a la industria con el fin de rentabilizar posibles oportunidades tecnológicas y optimizar el impacto social de aplicaciones prácticas de nuestra I+D. 7. Realizar actividades de formación y divulgación científica. 8. Todos aquellos objetivos relacionados con el objeto del presente Memorando que acuerden las instituciones firmantes.
