TOPIC: REVIEW OF POSSESSIVES ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS: HOW DO I USE THE SPANISH EQUIVALENT OF AN ‘S

POSSESSIVE REVIEW The possessive adjectives in Spanish are: Mi/mis — my Tu/tus (no accents) — your *Su/sus — his, her, your (plural), your (formal, talking to adult), their Nuestro/nuestra/nuestros/nuestras — our *Needs who it refers to established first

POSSESSIVE REVIEW They must match the gender/number of the thing they are attached to Mi amigo, mis amigos Tu hermana, tus hermanos Su casa, sus amigos Nuestro profesor, nuestra escuela, nuestros amigos, nuestras clases

YO-GO VERBS There are some verbs that have a slightly irregular ending in just the “yo” form They are called yo-go verbs, because in the ‘yo’ form, they end in ‘go’ You already know one: TENER TENGO Others: poner (yo put, place), salir (to leave, to go out), hacer (to do), venir (to come), decir (to say) Poner: PONGO, pones, pone, ponemos, ponen Salir: SALGO, sales, sale, salimos, salen Hacer: HAGO, haces, hace, hacemos, hacen Venir: VENGO Decir: DIGO

YO-GO VERBS There are also some yo-go verbs that have other “irregularities” Tener is one of them (the first ‘e’ becomes ‘ie’) Tener: TENGO, tienes, tiene, tenemos, tienen Venir (to come), decir (to say) Venir: VENGO, vienes, viene, venimos, vienen (just like tener – e-ie) Decir: DIGO, dices, dice, decimos, dicen (e-i) Don’t worry about why. We will learn more of these kinds of verbs later. Just know how to do these.
