YO-GO VERBS We know how to conjugate normal –ar, -er, and –ir verbs -AR: -o, -as, -a, -amos, -an -ER: -o, -es, -e, -emos, -en -IR: -o, -es, -e, -imos, -en We also know the forms of ser, estar, ir Soy, eres, es, somos, son Estoy, estás, está, estamos, están Voy, vas, va, vamos, van

YO-GO VERBS There are some verbs that have a slightly irregular ending in just the “yo” form They are called yo-go verbs, because in the ‘yo’ form, they end in ‘go’ You already know one: TENER TENGO Others: poner (yo put, place), salir (to leave, to go out), hacer (to do), venir (to come), decir (to say) Poner: PONGO, pones, pone, ponemos, ponen Salir: SALGO, sales, sale, salimos, salen Hacer: HAGO, haces, hace, hacemos, hacen Venir: VENGO Decir: DIGO

YO-GO VERBS There are also some yo-go verbs that have other “irregularities” Tener is one of them (the first ‘e’ becomes ‘ie’) Tener: TENGO, tienes, tiene, tenemos, tienen Venir (to come), decir (to say) Venir: VENGO, vienes, viene, venimos, vienen (just like tener – e-ie) Decir: DIGO, dices, dice, decimos, dicen (e-i) Don’t worry about why.
