Affirmative Informal (tú) commands Use the third person singular (él, ella, usted) SingularPlural 1st person 2nd person 3rd person X

Ejemplos Comer = ? Hablar = ? Correr = ? Escribir = ? Pensar = ?

Irregular Tú Affirmatives Decir di (to say) Salir sal (to leave) Poner pon (to put) Saber sé (to know, fact or information) Ir ve (to go) Venir ven (to come) Hacer haz (to do, to make) Tener ten (to have)

Negative Informal (tú) commands Look for a pattern! Caminar ¡No camines! Comer ¡No comas! Subir ¡No subas!

¡ Opposite Endings! For negative informal commands: -AR verbs end with -es -IR and -ER verbs end with -as So, if you dont want someone to smoke, you might say: ¡No _______ (fumar)!

But, ¡Cuidado! The root of the verb is different. Normally, we take off the last two letters to find the root. Example: Hablar --> Root = Habl- Example: Salir --> Root = Sal-

Roots continued... However, for negative tú commands, we use a different process. 1. First, find the YO form in the present tense. 2. Then, take off the -o. You now have your root.

Roots continued... Example: Hablar --> Hablo--> Root = Habl- In this case, the root is the same. Example: Salir --> Salgo --> Root = Salg- In this case, the root is different.

Remeber, this is only for the negative. ¡No comas! (Don´t eat!) ¡No corras! (Don´t run!) ¡No salgas! (Don´t leave!) ¡No tengas miedo! (Don´t have fear/don´t be afraid)

¡Practiquemos! If the ground is icy, you might say...

If an oso attacks, you might say...

If someone makes you angry at your birthday party, you might tell them to...

If you dont want someone to leave, you might say...
