How to form the Present Perfect Tense

yo he tú has Ud./él/ella ha nosotros hemos Uds./ellos/ellas han The present perfect tense is the tense you use when you want to talk about an action that has been completed (i.e. “I have finished my homework.”). Forming the present perfect in Spanish is very easy. It is a two-step process. The first step is to write the correct form of the verb “haber”, according to the subject. Here are the forms of “haber”: yo he tú has Ud./él/ella ha nosotros hemos Uds./ellos/ellas han

The second step is to remove the –ar, -er, or –ir from the ending of the infinitive, and add “-ado” if the verb is an –ar verb and “-ido” if the verb is an –er or –ir verb. I have studied. (estudiar) Yo he estudiado. She has eaten. (comer) Ella ha comido. We have listened. (escuchar) Nosotros hemos escuchado. They have lived in L.A. (vivir) Ellos han vivido En L.A.

Let’s do some examples. Write the correct present perfect form of the given verb. Remember – it’s a two-part process. The answer will appear after 10 seconds. Juan una pizza. (comer) ha comido Ellos una canción. (cantar) han cantado Tú una carta. (recibir) has recibido Nosotros español. (estudiar) hemos estudiado

Eva _________ una carta. (leer) Let’s do some practice. Complete these sentences with the correct present perfect form, according to the given verb. Tú_______ la Macarena. (bailar) That’s right… it’s has bailado! Eva _________ una carta. (leer) That’s right… it’s ha leido!
