Los detalles: Details Infographic should support one major detail and include additional facts and information to support and provide understanding Include an abstract (5-6 sentences) that explains what the infographic is about and highlights its purpose Make sure it is to scale to be seen clearly in its entirety Be unique! Add bar/line or pie charts to show data, images/visuals to highlight meaning and interest, use colors that bring attention to what readers need to “see” Make the size of the image the same scale as the numbers you are trying to represent Cite data sources and provide links to information for clarification and fact checking, so anyone can check your facts if need be List infographic designer’s name/association, always give credit to the artist/illustrator/programmer/designer (YOU in this case!) Be sure to include: Source data, so anyone can check your facts Original image/article address, so anyone who sees the image can find your original article

Los requisitos: Requirements ¡ESCRIBAN lo todo en ESPAÑOL! Choose ONE or combine a style of infographic (choices listed on Slide 2) Include a title that describes what the infographic is about and specifically addresses your target audience Include an abstract (5-6 sentences) that explains what the infographic is about and highlights its purpose Include at least 8-10 different “do’s” and “don’ts” to highlight the best and worst ideas Include at least 3 different sources/facts that you gathered info. from (articles, blogs, online surveys, personal surveys, etc.) Have a clear target audience is either “you”/Ud., “Ya’ll”/Uds. Or “boys”/ellos, “girls”/ellas, “teens”/los that jóvenes. Keep that in mind when writing your text! Decide on a grammar focus and use it consistently throughout the infographic. (Commands, subjunctive, etc.) ie: subjunctive-Es necessario que los chicos lleguen a tiempo para llevar la chica para la cita. ie: subjunctive-95% de las chicas encuestadas dudan que los chicos las entiendan completamente. ie: Ud. Commands-No se olvide ponerse el desodorante antes de salir otra vez. ie: Haga un picnic e incluya las fresas y los chocolates para después.

¿Por qué una infografía? Who is your target audience? (Girls only? Boys only? All teens? What is useful about putting your information in this format? Why would this be a better way to show the information rather just reading a blurb about it? What different pieces of information are included in the infographic that draws the reader to “see” and “comprehend” it? What information is included in the infographic that allows people unfamiliar with its content to understand it? What do you want the reader to walk away with an understanding of? After completion…IF YOU WERE A FIRST TIME READER OF THE INFOGRAPHIC, COULD YOU ANSWER ALL OF THE QUESTIONS ABOVE EASILY AND READILY?
