Formula: Ir + a + inifinitive Notes from Realidades book: 1.The Infinitive is the basic form of the verb (hablar=to talk, comer= to eat, leer=to read or any –ar, -er or –ir verbs). It means “to…” in English. 2.When you use ir + a with and infinitive means you or others are going to do something in the future. It is the same as “I am going to…….” in English: voy a comer una hamburguesa esta noche= I am going to eat a hamburguer tonight.

Ir + a + Infinitive you use it to say what you are going to do: I am going to play volleyball In Spanish is the same: Voy a jugar vóleibol. Clue: you don’t conjugate the second verb. It stays in the infinitive

What is not the formula: voy al parque. You have to have the 2 verbs separated by a. Voy a jugar futbol en el parque. Voy a correr esta tarde. Voy + a + infinitive

Conjugations of verb to go = ir Yo voy, tú vas, él/ella usted va, nosotros/as vamos, ellos/ellas/ Uds. van

¿Quieres ir a la fiesta? Lo siento, estoy ocupado-a Qué pena, estoy un poco cansada-o.

¿ Quieres ir al camping? Que pena tengo que hacer la tarea
