“Grandes Exitos de Juan Luis Guerra 4-40

Biografía de Guerra Juan Luis Guerra studied at Berklee to realize his dream of being a jazz musician. He returned to his country and cut one album in Manhattan transfer style, but when it flopped he decided to pursue the musical styles of his own country: merengue and bachata.

If only it would rain coffee in the fields, and a shower of yucca and tea would fall, from the sky a sprinkling of white cheese, and in the south a mountain of cress and honey. oh, oh, oh-oh-oh... If only it would rain coffee

Sancocho

Sancocho "Back in home(Dominican Republic), you don't have too much of one thing," says Rodriguez. "You don't have too much of meat or rice. So what you do is put everything together. You've got a little bit of everything in one meal." Rodríguez refers to the new conotation of the word "Sancocho." "Sometimes we use 'Sancocho of ideas,'" Rodríguez continues, "which means 'mixture of different ideas.'"
