2 Affirmative Informal Commands
To tell someone you know to do something, you use an affirmative informal command. To form the affirmative informal command of a regular or stem-changing verb, follow this step: Drop the final s off the end of the tú form Examples: Hablas  habla you speak  SPEAK! Comes  come you eat  EAT! pides  pide you ask (for) ASK FOR IT!

3 Affirmative IRREGULAR Informal Commands
Some verbs have irregular informal command forms. You MUST memorize these following commands: Irregular Commands: venir ven (COME!) tener  ten (HAVE!) salir  sal (GO OUT!) poner  pon (PUT!) hacer  haz (DO/MAKE!) ser  sé (BE!) decir di (TELL!) ir  ve (GO!)

Completa las oraciones con el mandato correcto. Luego, pon las oraciones en orden (in order). (Servir) la ensalada fría. (Lavar) las frutas. (Probar) la ensalada. (Añadir) un poco de azucar a las frutas. (Cortar) las frutas en trozos (pieces). (Poner) los trozos en un plato hondo. (Tener) cuidado con el cuchillo. 6 Los Mandatos Negativos
To form a negative informal command for verbs that end in –ar: omit the –o from the “yo” form of the verb add –es Hablar  Hablo  No hables! Escuchar  Escucho  No escuches! Comprar  Compro  No compres! To form a negative informal command for verbs that end in er/-ir: omit the –o from the “yo” form if the verb add –as Vivir  Vivo  No vivas! Escribir  Escribo  No escribas! Comer  Como  No comas!

8 Affirmative Commands with Pronouns
When you use a pronoun with a command ATTACH IT TO THE END OF THE COMMAND! Examples: - ¿Preparo la carne? Si, prepárala. ¿Pongo los vasos en la mesa? Sí, ponlos allí. Add an accent to the 3rd vowel FROM THE END of the command, unless the verb is one syllable long. Córtalas / mézclalas / sácalos / caliéntala

10 Los Mandatos Negativos
Always put DOP’s/IOP’s between the “no” and the verb Example: No lo hagas = Don’t do it No me digas = Don’t tell me

11 Do it! (la tarea) Don’t go (ir)! Tell it! (el secreto) Don’t put them there! (las cucharas) Don’t be rude! Serve them! (los postres) Heat it up! (el pollo) Try them! (las papas) Don’t touch it! (la estufa) Don’t bring it! (la ensalada)
