2 A Dominican Presence at the UN/NY Una Presencia Dominicana en la ONU en Nueva York The worldwide Order of Preachers has a permanent presence at the United Nations in Geneva through the Dominican Network, and, currently at the United Nations in New York through the Dominican Leadership Conference La Orden de Predicadores mundial tiene una presencia permanente en la ONU en Ginebra a través de Dominican Network, y por ahora, en la ONU en Nueva York como la Conferencia del Liderazgo Dominicano.

3 Our joint presence at the UN is part of our mission of collaboration in preaching the Gospel of peace. Nuestra presencia en Ginebra y New York, en la ONU, es parte de nuestra mision y colaboración en el anuncio del Evangelio de Paz.

4 The NGO representative will seek to create effective means of collaboration for creating a new world order in which justice and peace prevail. Responsibilities/Responsibilidades To bring the Dominican perspective to the UN/NGO community. To design a plan for effective communication; to stimulate interest, and facilitate response to UN issues. Llevar a la perspectiva dominicana a la comunidad ONU/ONG. Diseñar un plan de comunicación efectivo; estimular interés, y facilitar un respuesta a los asuntos del ONU.

5 Collaborate with other NGOs to focus attention on UN issues and initiatives dealing with the family, women, youth, environment and peace- building. Colaborar con otros ONGs para enfocar la atención en los asuntos e iniciativas sobre la familia, mujeres, los jovenes, el medio ambiente y la paz. Attend weekly NGO Briefings and the annual conference. Asistir a las sesiones semanales de información y a la conferencia annual. Prepare an annual budget and administer the NGO office Preparar un presupuesto anual y administrar la oficina ONG

6 To seek possible funding sources Explorar fuentes de recursos económicos Collaborate with resource persons within the Dominican Family Colaborar con recursos humanos de la misma familia dominicana Maintain regular communication with the Executive Director of the DLC, and with the Executive Committee. Mantener una buena comunicación con la Directora Ejecutiva del DLC, y con el Comité Ejecutivo. Serve as a staff member of the DLC Servir como parte del equipo del DLC

7 Participate in consultative process of ECOSOC in areas of DLC concern Participar en el proceso consultivo de ECOSOC en las areas de interés de DLC Participate in NGO committees Participar en diferentes comisiones entre ONGs Prepare Quadrennial Report for ECOSOC Preparar el Reporte cada cuatro anos para ECOSOC Communicate regularly with the membership of the DLC Comunicación regular con los miembros de DLC

8 Serve as a member of the International Commission for Justice, Peace & Care of Creation. Servir como miembro de la Comisión Internacional de Justicia, Paz y Cuidado de la Creación Accept invitations to connect with congregations, provinces and all other entities within the Dominican Family. Aceptar invitaciones para compartir con congregaciones, provincias y otros grupos dentro de la Familia Dominicana
