1 AP #3 Compound Tenses Doubling the verb fun!

2 To make a compound verb you need 2 elements:
A form of tener and a past participle. A form of haber and a past participle. A form of hacer and a past participle. A form of hablar and a past participle.

3 Past Participles are formed by:
- Adding –ado to the stem of an –AR verb hablADO - Adding –ido to the stem of –ER and –IR verbs comIDO

6 Los Perfectos Present Perfect 1- Present form of HABER Pluperfect
2- Past Participle He comido – I have eaten. Pluperfect 1- Imperfect form of HABER 2- Past Participle Había comido. – I had eaten Conditional Perfect 1- Conditional form of HABER 2- Past Participle Habría comido. I would have eaten. Future Perfect 1- Future form of HABER 2- Past Participle Habré comido. I will have eaten.

7 Ya habrás hecho la tarea.
Present Perfect Pluscuamperfecto Future Perfect Conditional Perfect

8 Habrían escrito los libros.
They have written the books. They had written the books. They will have written the books. They would have written the books.

9 Hemos impreso los papeles.
We have printed the papers. We had printed the papers. We will have printed the papers. We would have printed the papers.

10 Habíais cubierto los tazones.
Y’all have covered the bowls. Y’all would have covered the bowls. Y’all will have covered the bowls. Y’all had covered the bowls.

11 To express probability in the past we use:
Present perfect Pluscuamperfecto Future Perfect Conditional Perfect

12 To talk about something that will take place before another action we use:
Present Perfect Pluscuamperfecto Future Perfect Conditional Perfect

13 To talk about a past action that took place before another past action we use:
Present Perfect Pluscuamperfecto Future Perfect Conditional Perfect

14 Subjunctive and the Perfects
Present Perfect Subjunctive 1- The present subjunctive form of HABER 2- Past participle Dudo que lo hayas hecho. I doubt that you have done it. I doubt that you did it. This is used the same as Present Subjunctive (WEDDING) but expresses the past tense. Pluperfect Subjunctive 1- The imperfect subjunctive form of HABER 2- Past participle Quería que tú lo hubieras hecho. I wanted you to do it. I wanted that you had done it. This is used when the WEDDING verb is in the imperfect, preterite or conditional

15 Yo dudaba que… tú hubieras visto a Sal. tú hayas visto a Sal.

16 Es imposible que… Profe no haya tenido más alpacas.
Profe no hubiera tenido más alpacas.

17 Profe esperaba que… los estudiantes hayan estudiado por los examenes.
los estudiantes hubieran estudiado por los examenes.

18 Sal niega que… Oliver hubiera comido toda la comida.
Oliver haya comido toda la comida.
