5 Nadie atropella intencionalmente
JUSTIFICACIÓN Los montacargas son responsables por el 24% de las lesiones fatales que sufren los operadores de los mismos. Nadie atropella intencionalmente La causa principal es que los operadores de PIV’s no ven a un peatón que sale al paso, estando ambos distraídos. These statistics tell how dangerous lift trucks can be to the operator. They are equally as dangerous to pedestrians. The back up alarms are necessary to protect pedestrians. 6 LA REALIDAD Dan Sears murió en un accidente con PIV’s. El dejó una esposa y un Hijo. Como y porqué ocurrió el accidente? Quiza Dan tenía mucha cosas en su mente esa mañana. Estaba concentrado en poner la foto del 15 años de su hija en su cartera… El operador de montacargas volteo hacía atras hacía la carga que acababa de dejar. Dan salió de atrás de una columna. Todos estos han sido factores de la tragedia en la que una mujer perdió su Esposo, un hija perdio el amor y dedicación de su Padre y dejo a un compañero de trabajo con sufrimientos de culpa, que podrían herirdo durante varios años. 12 RESPONSABILIDAD DE LOS PEATONES
Supervisar y hacer que los operadores de PIV’s cumplan las reglas de seguridad de PIV’s. Reportar a los conductores irresponsables. Ceder el paso a los PIV’s Capacitar a otros peatones Cumplir reglas de seguridad de peatones The storage of materials can also present hazards. A damaged pallet can cause material to lean or fall from location. All material stored over 6 feet high should be wrapped or banded. Loose material becomes a falling hazard. ALUSUD-CHILE LABORATORIO

1 Los peatones siempre deben poner atención al tráfico de montacargas y PIV’s, conocer que hay inmediatamente enfrente de tí y que hay más adelante . 2 NUNCA se debe asumir que el operador del montacargas te está viendo. 3 El derecho de paso corresponde al montacargas (PIV’s.) Any time you go to a new line or area make sure to get familiar with the lift areas. Each line is fed parts differently and you need to know where the lifts will be bringing parts. You are responsible for your own safety. Do not assume a forklift sees you or plans on stopping. Assumptions get people hurt. 4 Debes hacer alto en las esquinas y al salir voltea a los lados (observa el pasillo y los espejos concavos en los cruzeros). 5 NUNCA cruzes frente a un montacargas sin antes confirmar que el operador del montacargas te cede el paso. 6 Camina siempre por los lados del pasillo junto a las áreas de trabajo. 7 Si no se puede caminar en contra del tráfico, hecha un vistazo a los vehículos atrás de tí. 8 NUNCA te detengas en medio del pasillo para tratar algún asunto. 9 NUNCA camine detrás de un montacargas sin decir “ATRAS DE TI”. 10 Haz Alto total en los cruzeros. 11 Siempre respete y camine por los pasillos peatonales marcados en el piso de la planta. This also happens when someone comes from the office and is reading something while they walk through the plant. If you are too close to the driver while you talk to them your feet can get under the lift. We have had numerous injuries where a person talked to a driver who then pulled away and ran over their foot. Stay back! A suspended load can come down at any time. Never get under one. 21 NUNCA maneje ningún vehículo sin tener licencia aprobada por el Dep. de Seguridad. 22 No permitas ser levantado en las cuchillas de un montacargas ni aceptes aventones. 23 NUNCA pases sobre las cuchillas, camina alrededor de ellas. 24 NUNCA camines o te pares bajo las cuchillas elevadas o de carga de un montacargas. 25 Cuando des instrucciones a un operador de montacargas mantente a la vista. 26 NUNCA otorgues un “aventon” en un vehículo industrial. Solo se permiten pasajeros cuando el vehículo esta equipado con un asiento adecuado. 27 NUNCA permitas que te levanten en las cuchillas de un montacargas, usa las canastillas y/o plataformas autorizadas. 20 EQUIPO DE PROTECCIÓN PERSONAL
Lentes de seguridad son indispensables para operar cualquier vehículo industrial. Cuando sea el caso, se deben usan plataformas canastillas o arneses debidamente sujetados para levantar personas aprobados por seguridad. Drivers need PPE also. Glasses are required at all times on any vehicle driven in the plant. If a driver is going to handle sharp objects they also need the proper gloves to protect from cuts. ALUSUD-CHILE LABORATORIO

21 MANEJO MANUAL DE MATERIALES
CUIDADO!, pueden ocurrir riesgos ergonómicos al bajar o levantar cajas u objetos pesados. Instale agarraderas en los contenedores manuales que no tengan, manten los materiales en tarimas. Utilize la técnica apropiada de levantamiento piernas dobladas y espalda recta. Recuerda las fajas no evitan lesiones contribuyen con problemas cardiovasculares y el Sindróme de Hércules. La evidencia científica No avalá su Uso (NIOSH) a Drivers need PPE also. Glasses are required at all times on any vehicle driven in the plant. If a driver is going to handle sharp objects they also need the proper gloves to protect from cuts.

CONCIENTE Siga TODAS las reglas de seguridad para vehículos industriales y peatones. ALERTA Identifica los riesgos, Aplica el sentido común, Ponga atención a su alrededor, anticipaté a lo inesperado. ACTIVO Ayuda a tus compañeros a trabajar seguros. VIVO es el resultado esperado. Looking out for number 1 is being responsible for your personal safety.
