2 P REPARING F OR F IRST G RADE  First grade is probably the most critical period in your child's education. It is a pivotal grade in which the foundation for the rest of the primary grades is set.  In first grade your child will become more independent and learn how to adapt to the school's routine.  El primer grado es probablemente el periodo más critico en la educación de su hijo/a. Share telephone numbers and email addresses.  Reinforce everything that’s being taught at school on a daily basis. Make homework a daily routine.  Spend time with your children. Ask them what they learned in school that day.  Help your child solve problems with peers by keeping a neutral stance. Convey your trust in his/her ability to solve the problem.
