28 The Days of the Celebration October 30-31 st - Build the altars in the home November 1 st – Día de los Angelitos November 2 nd - Día de los muertos November 2 nd – In the evening, collect the food and offerings left on the altar and leave a trail of cempasuchil that leads back to the panteón. The souls follow the scent of the flower to the panteón where they spend the evening with loved ones before they return to “home”. Family members burn candles on the cripta and place a flower arco while spending the evening with others who want to remember the deceased.
