7 The verb ser You see- the word ES is actually the él/ella/usted conjugation of the verb ser. Ser is an irregular verb, which means it doesn’t follow the same conjugation pattern as other verbs (like the –ar verbs we talked about last unit). Ser means “to be” and here is how we use it 

Hay una fiesta de quinceañera mañana a las seis de la noche. Irene es alta y delgada. Las amigas de Irene son inteligentes y simpáticas. La fiesta es divertida y los vestidos (the dresses) son interesantes. Los hermanos de Irene (Irene’s brothers) son muy serios pero ellos bailan en la fiesta y es muy cómico.
