Malbrán" 22° Reunión Anual de Unidades Centinela En enero de 2010, la Organización Mundial de la Salud estableció el 28 de julio como el Día Mundial de las Hepatitis. Con motivo de esta celebración en la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires (CABA), la Asociación Argentina para el Estudio de las Enfermedades del Hígado, junto a la Fundación HCV sin Fronteras organizaron una Jornada de Información y Concientización el 28 de Julio de 2012 en los jardines del Planetario de la CABA. Entre otras actividades, nuestro Servicio realizo una encuesta serológica para Hepatitis B y C, durante la realización del acto central. Contribuir a crear conciencia y alerta sobre estas enfermedades e identificar individuos infectados con virus de hepatitis B (HBV) y/o virus de hepatitis C (HCV) que podrían beneficiarse con tratamiento específico y evitar la progresión de la enfermedad y su transmisión. Se realizó una convocatoria por medios de difusión masiva invitando a mayores de 18 años a participar de la encuesta, respondiendo un breve cuestionario sobre variables demográficas y factores de riesgo (FR) y una extracción de sangre gratuitamente con 2 encuestadores y 3 extraccionistas durante 4 hrs. Las muestras fueron procesadas por enzimoinmunoensayo. Factores de Riesgo (FR) :  92 participantes (75%) reportaron al menos un FR.  Cirugía fue el FR más reportado (64.2%). Drogadicción endovenosa 3.3%.Transfusiones 12.2%

Malbrán" 22° Reunión Anual de Unidades Centinela Hepatitis B:  17 individuos fueron antiHBc POSITIVO (POS) (14%),  11 hombres.  Los antiHBc positivos fueron mayores que los antiHBc negativos (p= 0.0005).  Un individuo fue 1 HBsAg POS ( Hombre,60 a).  9 antiHBc POS fueron antiHBs POS. Hepatitis C:  5 individuos fueron antiHCV POSITIVO (4%),  5 hombres.  No hay diferencia etaria entre antiHCV negativos y positivos (p>0.05) RESULTADOS

Factores de Riesgo en antiHCV POS: (5 individuos) 2 individuos reportaron transfusión, 3 DEV, 3 cirugías 2 DI, 2 tatuajes. 1 no reportó ningún FR

Malbrán" 22° Reunión Anual de Unidades Centinela Conclusiones  La estrategia se cumplió con el objetivo primario del día mundial de las hepatitis creando conciencia sobre la magnitud del problema que las hepatitis virales representan para la salud pública.  Se contribuyo además en la identificación de seis individuos infectados.  La naturaleza de la convocatoria constituye una de las estrategias de mayor impacto para la vigilancia de este tipo de enfermedades asintomáticas y/o subclínicas.  Además este tipo de actividades contribuye a superar uno de los mayores problemas del sistema que es el acceso a la atención médica que gran parte de los afectados por estas patologías tiene y que en su mayoría son los que el tratamiento antiviral podría beneficiar.
