7 The Present Perfect in English The verb have/has + past participle Used to describe recent events: I have (just) eaten a worm. Theyve (just) hit me. Also used to describe a completed event in the past without indicating when it happened. Ive climbed Mt. Everest. (Sometime) Weve never smoked.

13 To express the future, use a form of the verb Ir + a + an infinitive (dictionary form of a verb). (Yo) voy a cortar el queso. Im going to cut the cheese. Ella va a leer los documentos hoy. She is going to read the documents today. (Nosotros) vamos a bailar la jula. We are going to dance the hula.
