2 Present Tense of –ER & -IR verbs
Q - What is an infinitive? A – The most basic form of the verb – not conjugated. Ends in –er/-ar/-ir and means to… (to study – estudiar) Q – What does “conjugate” mean? A – To put the verb in all it’s forms for each pronoun. Cross off the AR/ER/ or IR and add the appropriate ending. To make the verb agree with the subject.

Q - What are the 3 types of regular verbs? A – AR/ER/IR verbs Q – What is the 2 step process to conjugating –AR verbs? A – 1. Cross off the – AR 2. Add the endings to the stem (o/as/a/amos/an)

4 Present Tense of –ER & -IR verbs
-ER verbs & -IR verbs follow the same process, you just have to learn a different set of endings. Here are the endings:

5 -ER Verbs (vender) Yo o Tú es Él/ella e usted Nosotros emos
Ellos/ellas en ustedes

6 -IR Verbs (compartir) Yo o Tú es Él/ella e usted Nosotros imos
Ellos/ellas en ustedes *****Notice that the only difference between -ER & -IR verbs is the nosotros ending.

7 Conjugate the verb vender (to sell)
Yo vendo Tú vendes Él/ella vende usted Nosotros vendemos Ellos/ellas venden ustedes

8 Conjugate the verb compartir (to share)
Yo comparto Tú compartes Él/ella comparte usted Nosotros compartimos Ellos/ellas/ustedes comparten
