5 5 – 7% de la población mundial 4 de 5 no saben que están enfermos 50% muere por eventos CV antes de llegar a estadío terminal

6 Ha habido mejoría en la prevención y manejo de la ERC en las últimas 2 a 3 décadas, pero insuficiente. ¿Nuevas opciones terapéuticas?

7 PROTEINURIA Proteinuria: > 150 mg/día.
Microalbuminuria: 30 a 300 mg/día. TIPOS DE PROTEINURIA Glomerular Tubular Overflow o sobrecarga

As a consequence of proteinuria, the intrarenal activation of the complement cascade may promote injury through the formation of membrane attack complex and biologically active products, such as C3a, that interact with specific receptors. Monocytes/macrophages contribute to fibrosis by release of TGF-β, which stimulates myofibroblast formation and collagen deposition and epithelial mesenchymal transformation. 15 CONCLUSIONES Análisis de orina rutinarios a pacientes de riesgo Es importante su detección temprana en pacientes de riesgo Cuantificar correctamente la proteinuria para valorar pronóstico

16 CONCLUSIONES Todos los pacientes con proteinuria persistente deberían ser evaluados por un nefrólogo: profundizar estudios, evaluar intervenciones y tratamiento, y seguimiento estricto
