Summary Design & Outcome Standards Jóvenes Constructores El Salvador

Monitoring, evaulation and learning Purpose: Genete inforamtion to ensure systematic qualitative and quantitative results through on going evaluation and reflective processes. This supports decision making processes concernign implementation strategy. (10 standards) Youth leadership and graduate movement Purpose: The methodology shoudl develop effective leadership skills among youth during and after the program. It is vital that youth have the opportunity to put into practice decision making where youth are protagnoists. (10 standards) Program Culture and phylosophy Purpose: Build a common culture and language among programs, where youth develop the ability to learn, think, make decision and have voice. The purpose behind each program element is clearly understood through the methodology and high, demanding yet realisit expectations of youth are implmented in order to promote resiliency.. (10 standards) Phase I. Institutional and territorial diagnostics (1to 2 months) Purpose: Map the existing institutional and territorial resources and experience available to support the program (14 standards) Phase II. Participant selection (1 to 2 months) Purpose: Ensure that youth that meet the selection criteria and profile demonstrate that they are ready for the program.(8 standards) Phase III. Program Implementation (5 to 8 months) Purpose: Form youth that are leaders and employable based on high, demanding and reasonable expectations. The componentes are based on teh Heart of Jóvenes Constructores (leadership, service, family and opportunity)(43 standards) Phase IV. Follow up and insertion (at least 6 months) Purpose: Provide support for at least 6 months following the program to each young person so that he or she is able to return to school, find a job or start their own business (5 stanmdards) Design Standards for Jovenes Constructores
