GO VERBS Chapter 2

Go Verbs  Spanish go verbs are irregular in the present tense.  The ending (er) or (ir) changes to (go) in the (yo) form (first person singular).  The most common go verbs are: hacer, salir, poner, traer, tener, venir.  Not only are some of these verbs go verbs, but they are also stem changing verbs.

Hacer- to do, to make  Yo -hago  Tú- haces  Él/Ella/Ud.- hace  Nosotros- hacemos  Vosotros- hacéis  Ellos/Ellas/Uds.- hacen Ejemplo: Yo hago la cama cada mañana. I make the bed every morning.

Poner- to put  Yo -pongo  Tú- pones  Él/Ella/Ud.- pone  Nosotros- ponemos  Vosotros- ponéis  Ellos/Ellas/Uds.- ponen Ejemplo: Yo pongo la comida en el horno. I put the food in the oven.

Valer- to cost, to be worth  Yo -Valgo  Tú- vales  Él/Ella/Ud.- vale  Nosotros- valemos  Vosotros- valéis  Ellos/Ellas/Uds.- valen
