Hoy vamos a aprender Modo potencial o condicional de verbos regulares Expressing conditions Modo potencial de verbos irregulares Expressing conditions (irregular)

Modo potencial o condicional de verbos regulares As with the future, the infinitive is used as the stem for the conditional of regular verbs.

Modo potencial o condicional de verbos regulares You use the conditional, as you do in English, to tell what would take place under certain circumstances. Ex. The plane would have departed now but can not because of the bad weather. El avión despegaría ahora pero no puede porque hace mal tiempo.

Modo potencial o condicional de verbos regulares The conditional is also used to soften requests. Ex Will you pass me the headphones, please? Me pasaría usted los audífonos, por favor?

Modo potencial o condicional de verbos regulares Infinitive Llegar Endings stem Llegar- Yo -ía Tú -ías Él,ella, Ud. Nosotros -íamos Vosotros -íais Ellos, ellas, Uds -ían

Modo potencial o condicional de verbos regulares Notice that the endings for the conditional are the same as those for the imperfect of –er and –ir verbs.

Modo potencial de verbos irregulares The same verbs that are irregular in the future tense are irregular in the conditional. The same stem changes are used in both tenses.
