It is an irregular verb that is conjugated as follows: Notice the irregular yo form and the changes that occur in the stem of the second-person singular and third persons: add i before the e. The verb tener Yo Tú Él Ella Ud.

Uses Talk about ownership: what someone has. Talk about hair and eye color. Talk about age. Talk about what someone “must or has” to do (obligation).

Ownership / What One Has Tengo un perro. I have a dog.
