To describe people doing things for themselves Must use reflexive pronouns with the verbs. If there is not a pronoun with the verb, then the person doing the action did not receive the action.
Some verbs have different meanings when used with a reflexive pronoun. Por ejemplo: Dormir – to sleep dormirse – to fall asleep Ir – to go irse – to leave, to go away Poner – to put ponerse – to put on
Pronouns need to accompany the verbs if the person doing the action and receiving the action are the same. menos tese
The pronoun needs to be placed IN FRONT of the conjugated verb: Ejemplo: Ella se lava la cabeza The pronoun can be ATTACHED to an infinitve: Ejemplo: Ella necesita lavarse la cabeza. NOTE: We use “la cabeza” instead of “mi cabeza” because the possession is implied with the reflexive pronoun.
If you attach to an infinitive, be sure to include the correct pronoun. Ejemplos: necesito lavarME las manos. Necesitas ponerte la ropa. Queremos leventarnos ahora.
1. Me lavo los dientes. 2. Tú lavas el carro. 3. Nosotros bañamos el perro. 4. Ellos se ponen la ropa. 5. Ella quiere dormirse temprano.
1. Cuándo te lavas los dientes? 2. Cuando te duchas? 3. Te maquillas todos los días? 4. Necesitas afeitarte todos los días? 5. A qué hora te pones la ropa?
