Comparisons in Spanish To make a comparison in Spanish, you need the construction: más… que… (more…than…) or menos…que… (less…than…) The adjective is sandwiched in the middle and changes its ending to agree with the person/people being described. Britney Spears es más guapa que Madonna. Mr Bueno es más guapo que Mrs Delacroix. Los estudiantes son más inteligentes que los profesores.

Many adjectives are cognates… For example: activo, popular, agresivo, cruel, etc. But be careful with some of them because they don’t all translate as you expected!!!! simpático = nice sensible = sensitive gracioso = funny
