Salvador Felipe Jacinto Dalí ( ) The Early Years 1904 – 1929 The Surrealist Years 1929 – 1941 The Classic Years: 1941 – 1989 Nació en Figueras, España Dalí se llevaba en una manera diferente – el pelo, la ropa, su bigote, su bastón(cane) Siempre buscaba la atención Experimentó con varios estilos pero es mejor conocido como surrealista

Su vida Lo expulsaron de la escuela de arte por ser lider de una manifestación contra la escuela Vivió toda su vida entre España, los Estados Unidos y París Produjo películas, libros, pinturas, esculturas, litografías, artículos de periódico, anuncios, el arte experimental/teatro Pintaba una pintura cada año para los museos Vivía toda su vida felizmente con su esposa Gala hasta la muerte de ella en 1982, no tuvieron hijos Se murió por falta de deseo de comer después de la muerte de Gala en 1989

The Surreal Years

Surrealismo Surrealism: The modern movement of painting, sculpture, and literature that tries to demonstrate what occurs in the subconscious mind. Many times the images interweave the conventional with the unconventional, or rather, the familiar with the strange or bizarre to represent the thoughts and characteristics of dreams, or the subconscious expression of the imagination

The Invisible Man El surrealismo es un movimiento del arte moderno en que el artista explora el subconsciente en la obra. Dalí saca sus ideas e imágenes de los sueños. Dalí dijo que producía sus pinturas en un estado de delirio psicológico.

Otras influencias en la obras de Dalí…  Los insectos – el saltamontes.  Cuando era niño sus compañeros de la escuela lo aterrorizaba matando insectos y poniendo los insectos muertos en su escritorio. Dalí incluye estas referencias de su niñez en sus obras.

The Madonna of Port Lligat Otro tema importante es la religión.

Dalí incluye muchos símbolos en sus obras como los otros artistas que hemos estudiado. El huevo aquí puede ser una referencia al renacimiento del bautismo.

The Three Sphixes of Bikini Esta obra destaca otra influencia importante en las obras de Dalí, o sea, otro tema—el átomo o la guerra atómica.

Se nota la influencia o la obsesión de Dalí en las bombas atómicas de la segunda guerra mundial. En 1945 los EE.UU. destruyó la ciudad de Hiroshima, Japón.

En muchas de las obras de este periodo, Dalí reduce todo a los átomos.

Dalí viajó a Hollywood donde tenía mucho éxito como artista pintando las imágenes famosas y trabajando con los artistas importantes de los EE.UU. como Hitchcock.

Otros símbolos típicos que se encuentran en las obras… Los huevos Dalí insiste en que tiene memoria o recuerda su > antes de su nacimiento—en útero.
