Principios del curriculum integrado -Teoría del aprendizaje de L2:Los alumnos deben saber lo que quiere decir el contenido para saber lo que están buscando en el lenguaje. -Método de enseñanza: a) cuenta con un trasfondo académico de otra disciplina, b) la secuencia de los contenidos no la marca la lengua sino los contenidos curriculares, c) la lengua 2 se usa exclusiva o mayoritariamente. -Procedimientos: Los materiales son auténticos porque son de naturaleza académica

Riesgos del monolingüismo: -de carácter integrativo: falta de comprensión de un mundo diverso e integrado. -de carácter instrumental: marginación de los canales de comunicación e interacción globales.  Año 2000: cambio de paradigma en la enseñanza de lenguas: Enseñanza bilingüe frente a enseñanza funcional.
