Ir + a + Infinitive I am going to play. We are going to study. past Now future Ir + A + Infinitive is used to talk about what is happening in the future. We use a similar form in English to say what is happening in the future! I am going to play. We are going to study. She is going to eat.

How do we talk about the future in English? Infinitive Verb Unconjugated verb + + To Be going going I am You are He/She is We are They are to talk to play to walk to run to eat to drink

What is required to form a sentence using Ir+a+Infinitive? Infinitivo a + + The Verb To Go + to Unconjugated Verb

Steps to form Ir + a + Infinitive Step 1: Choose the form of “ir” according to the subject voy a hablar Yo Tú Usted Él/Ella Nosotros Ustedes Ellos/Ellas vas Step 2: Add “a” (same as “going” in English) va vamos Step 3: Add the infinitive verb. van
