C. *OjO (importante)  Verbs that have a stem change in the present tense do not necessarily have a stem change in the preterite.  Ejemplo: probarse Me pruebo la ropa antes de comprarla. 3. Verbs that end in –car, -gar, -zar have a spelling change in the yo form of the preterite  a. buscar c > qu yo busqué  b. pagar g > gu yo pagué  c. almorzar z > c yo almorcé
