Las reglas de los adjetivos Adjectives must agree in number (singular or plural) and gender (masculine or feminine) with the noun they modify. In Spanish, the adjective usually follows the noun Ex: El chico guapo La chica guapa When describing people, the adjective agrees in gender with the person/people it is describing. Ex: If you are describing a man, the adjective is masculine. If you are describing a woman, the adjective is feminine. You use the verb “ser” with adjectives to talk about physical traits

Most adjectives that end in –e match both genders. In general (but not always), masculine adjectives end in –o and feminine adjectives end in –a. Most adjectives that end in –e match both genders. Ex: El chico es fuerte. La chica es fuerte. Many adjectives that end in a consonant match both genders. Ex: Juan es débil. Juana es débil.
