2 Adjectives to describe Gender
Adjectives describe nouns. In Spanish, all adjectives must agree in number and gender with the nouns they describe. In Spanish, adjectives usually follow the noun. Gender: nouns are either masculine or feminine. Number: nouns are either singular or plural.

3 Adjectives to describe Gender & Number
A Spanish adjective will change its ending to match the gender and number of the noun it describes. If the noun is female, then the adjective will be female If the noun is male then the adjective will be male. If the noun is singular, then the adjective will be singular If the noun is plural then the adjective will be plural.

4 Adjectives to describe Number
To make nouns or adjectives plural add “s” to words ending with vowels, add “es” to words ending with consonants. Él chico ---- Los chicos La chica Las chicas Él papel ---- Los papeles La chica es fenomenal Las chicas son fenomenales. When an adjective describes a group with both genders, the masculine form of the adjective is used. Él chico y la chica son guapos.

Masculine adjectives often end in O. Él chico es guapo The boy is good looking. Feminine adjectives often end in a. La chica es guapa The girl is good looking.

6 Adjectives to describe Gender
Most adjectives that end with -e match both genders. Él chico es paciente The boy is patient. La chica es paciente The girl is patient.

7 Adjectives to describe Gender
Most adjectives that end with a consonant match both genders. Él chico es fenomenal. The boy is phenomenal. La chica es fenomenal. The girl is phenomenal.

8 Adjectives to describe Gender
Some add -a to become feminine. These adjectives must be learned. Él chico es trabajador. The boy is hard-working. La chica es trabajadora.The girl is hard- working.

aburrido(a) corto(a) pelirrojo(a) bueno(a) delgado(a) pequeño(a) divertido(a) feo(a) rubio(a) malo(a) gordo(a) cómico(a) alto(a) guapo(a) perezoso(a) bajo(a) largo(a) serio(a) bonito(a) amarillo(a) anaranjado(a) rojo(a) blaco(a) negro(a) rosado(a) morado(a) moreno(a) simpático(a)
