Uses of tener l to show relationship, possession, or age –Tengo dos hermanas. (I have two sisters.) –Ella tiene una falda bonita. (She has a pretty skirt.) –Ricardo tiene quince años. (Ricardo is 15 years old. )

Uses of tener l in expressions such as –tener hambre (to be hungry) –tener sed (to be thirsty) –tener sueño (to be sleepy)

Uses of tener que + infinitive l to say something has to be done –Tengo que estudiar para el exámen. (I have to study for the exam.) –Tienes que comer las verduras. (You have to eat your vegetables.)
