December 2014 Friendly RemindersImportant Dates From Mrs. Rink December 1 – Late Start December 12 – Early Release December 15 – Late Start December 22-January 2- Winter Break January 5 – Return to School December’s character trait is Generosity! We’ll be learning what it means all month long. This month is short because of our upcoming winter break but we have a lot of work to do. We are finishing up our unit in math that works on story problems and will be moving in to multiplication. In Reading we are studying Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and learning about the strategies of character analysis and visualization. Our Personal Narrative Stories are developing nicely and will be ready for publishing in January. All of this is very exciting and your students are working hard. This is cold and flu season so please make sure that your students are getting enough sleep and dressing for the weather. With the cold temperatures it is important for students to have a coat for recess. Please also make sure that students are reading every evening for 20 minutes. This will be especially important over the break so that they do not lose what they have learned. Finally – have a safe and happy winter break!!! Library books are due each Thursday. Please make sure to return books to school so that your student can check out. Math homework (almost) every day. Please ask your students to show you what they are working on and remind them to turn it in. The extra practice helps to keep skills fresh in their minds. Book orders are due this Friday, December 5 so that they will be delivered in time for winter break.

December 2014 Friendly RemindersImportant Dates From Mrs. Rink December 1 – Late Start December 12 – Early Release December 15 – Late Start December 22-January 2- Winter Break January 5 – Return to School Rasgo carácter de diciembre es generosidad!
