Summary  PARA is mostly used with destinations, deadlines, recipients, things in the future…think about heading toward a certain end goal; anywhere you can use “in order to” you can apply PARA. Para is also used for opinions and employment.  POR is less straightforward that PARA and is used for a variety of things, including substitutions, motives, means of, general locations, etc. It does not usually describe what is anticipated to happen but rather how or why it happens.
