PREFERIR n Here we will learn the verb PREFERIR, which means “to prefer.” n But before we do, let’s look at 2 other verbs like PREFERIR.

QUERER and PENSAR n Querer means… n “to want” n Pensar means… n “to plan” or “to think”

QUERER and PENSAR n Querer and Pensar are stem-changing or boot verbs. n They are e  ie stem- changing verbs.

n The stem of “querer” is… n “quer” n The stem of “pensar” is… n “pens” n What changes? “quier” “piens”

n Both verbs follow regular “-er and -ar” endings. n -o, -as, -a, -amos, -áis, -an n -e, -es, -e, -emos, -éis, -en

QUERER and PENSAR n All forms change except the nosotros and vosotros forms. Let’s see!

QUERER and PENSAR n When forms of QUERER and PENSAR are followed by another verb, the second verb is always in the infinitive.
